NBS: China's rebar output down by 8.1% YoY in 2022

According to the latest data released by China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), in December 2022, China produced about 19.52 million tons of rebar, 11.05 million tons of steel wire rod and 78.61 million tons of iron ore (raw ore), down by 4.4%, 12.3% and 2.4% YoY respectively; while the output of medium-thick steel strip reached 16.64 million tons, up by 4% YoY.
Throughout 2022, the output of rebar, steel wire rod and iron ore (raw ore) fell by 8.1%, 8.2% and 1% YoY to about 237.63 million tons, 141.37 million tons and 967.87 million tons respectively; while that of medium-thick steel strip rose by 4.7% YoY to about 187.8 million tons.
