Guigang Group to build 1.74Mtpy of ironmaking capacity

In accordance with relevant guidelines and implementation measures issued by the State Council, the capacity replacement scheme drawn up by Guangxi Guigang Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. (Guigang Group) was recently released by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and it will be made public from November 29 to December 26, 2022.
The company plans to build a new blast furnace with ironmaking capacity of 1.74 million tonnes per year, and the construction is scheduled to begin in January 2024, with production to commence in June 2025. As part of the capacity replacement scheme, the company will close two furnaces with combined capacity of 1.66Mtpy.
