Tangshan to build China's largest waste steel processing and utilization base

On November 24th, Tangshan Municipal Government issued a notice on printing and distributing the implementation plan for the building of the recycling system of waste materials in Tangshan (2022-2025). It is mentioned in the plan that by 2025, the total recycling and reutilization amount of waste steel of steel mills in the city will reach 40 million tons, and the proportion of scrap steel will reach more than 30%. The raw ore mining volume will decline by 172 million tons, the carbon dioxide emissions will drop by 64 million tons and the mineral slag discharge volume will go down by 48 million tons, so as to build Tangshan into the largest recycling, processing and utilization base of waste steel and green low-carbon steel production base in China.
