Turkey's steel consumption down by 3.4% YoY

According to statistics released by TCUD, Turkey's steel consumption declined by 3.4% year on year to 17 million tons. In the first half of this year, the output of crude steel of the country decreased by 4.6% from the same period last year to 18.9 million tons.
The steel exports of Turkey totaled about 8.5 million tons in the first half of this year, down by 8.1% YoY, and those in June was only about 1.5 million tons, down by 17.9% YoY. The steel imports of Turkey totaled about 7.7 million tons in the first half of this year, down by 5.9% YoY, while those in June increased by 9.6% from the same period of the previous year to 1.3 million tons.
