BYD to invest RMB28.5 billion in building power battery and lithium ore project in Yichun

A ceremony was held on August 15th for BYD to formally sign strategic cooperation framework agreements with the governments of both Yichun city and Yifeng county, Yichun Economic Development Zone and Yichun Mining Company.
According to above agreements, BYD will invest RMB28.5 billion (USD4.20 billion) in building a 30GWhpy power battery & 100,000tpy battery grade lithium carbonate and lithium-bearing ceramic clay mining, beneficiation and comprehensive development and utilization base project in Yichun.
