MIIT: China's mobile phone production falls by 2.7% YOY in H1 2022

The information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (MIIT) shows that in the first half of 2022, the added value of China's electronic information manufacturing industry achieved a relatively rapid growth, with growth rate of the export delivery value picking up steadily, the revenue of enterprises continuing to improve and the investment keeping a relatively rapid growth.
In June, the added value of electronic information manufacturing industry above designated size increased by 11% year on year, 3.7 percentage points higher than that in May. And that in the first half of this year showed an increase of 10.2% year on year, 6.8 percentage points and 0.6 percentage points higher than that of industry and high-tech manufacturing industry respectively.
In the first half of 2022, among the main products, the output of mobile phones was 744 million units, down by 2.7% year on year, including 576 million units of smart phones, down by 1.8% year on year; and that of microcomputer equipment recorded 212 million units, decreasing by 5% year on year; and that of integrated circuit posted 166.1 billion pieces, falling by 6.3% year on year.
In the same period, the export of China's laptops was 88.35 million units, down by 17.3% year on year; and that of mobile phones recorded 406 million units, declined by 10.9% year on year; that of integrated circuits was 141 billion, going down by 6.8% year on year.
