According to Japan's Ministry of Finance, for the first half of 2022, Japan imported 54.43 million tons of iron ore in total, down by 2.6% year on year, and around 7.89 million tons in June, a month-on-month decline of 17.4% and a year-on-year decline of 23%.
From January to June 2022, Japan's export volume of iron and steel products recorded 16.77 million tons, up by 0.1% from a year earlier. In June, Japan exported about 3.06 million tons of iron and steel products, 0.2% higher than the prior comparative period.
