The report published on July 28 by the International Energy Agency (IEA) showed that the global coal consumption in 2021 rebounded by 5.8% from the previous year, reaching 7.947 billion tons.
The report predicts that in the whole year of 2022, the global coal demand would rise by 0.7% YOY to around 8 billion tons, matching the all-time high level recorded in 2013.
