Lanzhou Greifen Carbon Material breaks ground on 120ktpy anode material project

On July 3, the groundbreaking ceremony for the 120,000tpy anode materials (150,000tpy graphitization) project launched by Lanzhou Greifen Carbon Material Co., Ltd. was held at Lanzhou New Area, Gansu. This 1,870-Mu (125-hectare) project will be constructed in two phases, with the total investment estimated at RMB6 billion (USD896 million). The first phase with capacity of 70,000tpy of synthetic graphite anode material (100,000tpy graphitization) is expected to partially come on stream with graphitization capacity of 30,000-50,000tpy in late 2022. The second phase will mainly produce 50,000tpy of silicon-carbon anode material (including graphitization capacity of 50,000tpy), 5,000tpy of carbon nanotube powder and 30,000tpy of carbon nanotube slurry, with construction and production scheduled to commence in January 2024 and early 2025 respectively.
