China aims to reduce industrial energy intensity by 13.5% from 2021 to 2025

China will lower its industrial energy consumption per unit of output by 13.5% against 2020 over the 2021-2025 period through improved technologies, standards, and financial services, with focus on traditional sectors such as steel, nonferrous metals, and construction materials as well as growing high-energy consuming segments like data centers, according to an action plan jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other authorities on June 26.
