Anhui Baomei's 300ktpy lightweight magnesium alloy project begins construction of main plant

On June 28, the main factory of the 300ktpy lightweight magnesium light alloy project launched by Anhui Baomei Light Alloy Co., Ltd. broke ground at Tongbu park within Qingyang Economic Development Zone.
This 2,200-Mu (147-hectare) project commenced construction on December 28, 2021, with total estimated investment of RMB14.8 billion (USD2.21 billion). It represents a complete magnesium industrial chain consisting of ore mining, magnesium smelting, alloy smelting, processing, as well as recycling. Upon completion, the project will have an annual production capacity of 300,000t of high-performance magnesium alloys, components and parts widely used for NEVs, 3C electronics and aerospace industries.
