EAF short process steel production in Sichuan to account for 40% by 2025

On June 22, the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Sichuan issued an implementation plan about developing EAF short-process steelmaking, which proposed to create a leading EAF steel industrial cluster in the world and build green, low-carbon and safe circular industrial systems to strengthen resource guarantee capacity and digital-intelligent innovation capacity. By 2025, the production of EAF short-process steel in Sichuan will account for 40% of the total, up from the current 26%.
