WBMS: Global nickel market has deficit of 51.7kt in Jan-Apr 2022

According to the report data released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS) on June 15, from January to April 2022, the global apparent demand for refined nickel recorded 919.5kt, 51.7kt higher than the refined nickel output of 867.8kt, while there was a supply shortage of 146.9kt in the whole year of 2021.
From January to April 2022, global nickel production reached 882.7kt, an increase of 58kt year-on-year. From January to April 2022, the global apparent demand for nickel increased by 52kt compared with the same period last year.
In April 2022, global smelted/refined nickel output reported 226.1kt, and the demand was 225.7kt.
