Sichuan New Energy Power to set up joint venture on 30,000tpy lithium salt project

On June 13, Sichuan New Energy Power announced that it decided to set up a joint venture with EVE Energy and SVOLT Energy for a 30,000tpy lithium salt project. Of the total RMB750 million (USD113 million) registration capital of the joint venture, RMB383 million (USD57.54 million) will be invested by Sichuan New Energy Power, enabling it to be the controlling shareholder of the JV, while EVE Energy and SVOLT Energy will respectively invest RMB184 million (USD27.65 million), equivalent to a 24.5% stake each in the new company.
The joint venture will be responsible for investment and construction of a 30,000tpy lithium salt project which will be composed of 15,000tpy battery-grade lithium hydroxide and 15,000tpy battery-grade lithium carbonate production equipment. Total project investment will be RMB1.49 billion (USD0.22 billion).
