CAAM: China's auto sales up by 57.6% MoM in May

According to the report on economic operation of automobile industry in May released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on June 10, in May, China's auto production and sales showed a significant recovery growth, from which NEV still outstood.
In May, the production and sales of automobiles were 1.93 and 1.86 million units respectively, up by 59.7% and 57.6% MOM while down by 5.7% and 12.6% YOY respectively. In particular, that of passenger cars were 1.7 and 1.62 million units respectively, with a year-on-year increase of 5.2% while a year-on-year decrease of 1.4% each; that of commercial vehicles reached 225,000 and 239,000 units respectively, decreased by 47% and 50.5% year-on-year respectively; that of NEVs recorded 466,000 and 447,000 units respectively, both increased by 1.1 times YOY.
From January to May, the production and sales of automobiles posted 9.62 and 9.56 million units respectively, down by 9.6% and 12.2% YOY respectively. In particular, that of passenger cars were 8.2 and 8.13 million units respectively, with a year-on-year decrease of 1.1% and 3.6% each; that of commercial vehicles reached 1,422,000 and 1,421,000 units respectively, decreased by 39.4% and 41.9% year-on-year respectively; that of NEVs recorded 2.07 and 2 million units respectively, both increased by 1.1 times YOY.
