On May 13th, Zhang Jianhua, the Director of China's National Energy Administration, said in an article that China must adhere to two-way efforts to promote the optimization and upgrading of energy production and consumption and guide the supply side and the consumption side to advance together. On the supply side, based on the basic national conditions of coal-based power generation, the role of coal and coal-based power in supporting, regulating, and guaranteeing the development of new energy industry will be brought into play. On the consumption side, China should promote the reduction and restriction of coal consumption in steel, non-ferrous metal, building material and other industries, carry out energy-saving upgrades in key areas and stimulate enterprises to increase the consumption proportion of green energy and the electrification level.
