Fuhua New Materials Group's steelmaking capacity replacement scheme made public

In accordance with relevant guidelines and implementation measures issued by the State Council, the capacity replacement scheme for a steelmaking project between Fujian Fuhua New Materials Group Co., Ltd. and Fuan Tongkang Metal Products Co., Ltd. was made public by the Economy and Information Technology Department of Fujian Province on April 30.
According to the scheme, Fujian Fuhua New Materials and Fuan Tongkang Metal Products will shut down steelmaking capacity of 500,000tpa and 360,000tpa respectively, for a total of 860,000tpa.
Fujian Fuhua New Materials will build new capacity of 825,000tpa to replace the capacity to be shut down at the ratio of 1:1, with the remaining capacity of 35,000tpa to be replaced for other projects.
The newly-planned capacity is scheduled to be constructed in June 2023 with production expected by June 2026.
