MOIT: Vietnam's coal imports to grow nearly 30% in next 4-year

Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (MOIT) claimed on April 14 that the country expects to increase its coal imports by nearly 30% from 36 million tons in 2021 to 46.5 million tons as of 2025, which will further grow to reach 123.7 million tons by 2045.
Over the past decade, Vietnam has transformed itself from net exporter to net importer of coal with its power sector increasingly reliant on imported coal and Indonesia and Australia being the major suppliers.
