MIIT: storage battery output exceeds 9GWh in Jan-Feb

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), in the first two months of 2022, Li-ion battery industry in China kept rapid growth momentum. According to the enterprise information and research institutions, from January to February, the total output of Li-ion battery in China exceeded 82GWh. The output of energy storage battery exceeded 9GWh, and the loading capacity of new energy vehicle power battery was about 30GWh.
As for the first-stage material directly used by Li-ion battery, the output of related products increased by over 65% YoY. From January to February, the output of positive electrode material, negative electrode material, diaphragm and electrolyte reached 235,000 tons, 140,000 tons, 1.75 billion square meters and 105,000 tons respectively. For second-stage material indirectly used by Li-ion battery, the output of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide for batteries reached 37,000 tons and 29,000 tons respectively from January to February.
