The mainstream prices of zinc ingot increased with fluctuation in general this month, and the spot market witnessed stable deals considering the watchful attitudes of consumers to the market outlook of zinc ingot but the needs to build products stocks for holiday. The supply of zinc ingot in Shanghai market remained tight some producers in Shaanxi reduced output under COVID-19 but consumers in Ningbo resumed production as COVID-19 ended, maintaining to higher prices compared to that of Tianjin market and Guangdong market.
TCs of zinc concentrate dropped further at the end of January as smelters not only maintained stable consumption but also needed to build winter stocks, while most zinc ingot smelters in North China halted production in this month as for the cold weather, leading to the decreased transactions in spot market under the tight supply. The TCs of imported zinc concentrate increased slightly as under the watchful attitudes of smelters to the imported zinc concentrate, but the market saw increased deals and supply this month for imported zinc concentrate.
Prices for zinc die-casting alloy, zinc oxide and zinc powder went up with fluctuation following those for raw material zinc ingot. The spot market of zinc alloy and zinc oxide saw decreased deals as prices of raw material remained at high level and consumers planned to have holiday in advance and decreased consumption.
