China releases first rare earth mining and smelting quotas for 2022

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Ministry of Natural Resources of China on January 28 issued a notice on the first batch of quotas for mining and for smelting and separation of rare earths in 2022.
According to the notice, China has set a quota for the first batch of rare earth mining in 2022 at 100,800 tons, with a quota for smelting and separation at 97,200 tons. The quotas will be shared among the country's four main producers, including China Rare Earth Group Co . , Ltd, China Northern Rare Earth (Group) High-Tech Co . , Ltd, Xiamen Tungsten Co . , Ltd . , and Guangdong Rare Earth Industry Group Co . , Ltd.
