MEE: Semi coke industry in Yulin, Shaanxi found serious production capacity and environmental problems

In December 2021, China's third central ecological and environmental protection inspection team found when it made inspections in Shaanxi Province that some places in Yulin City fail to effectively eliminate backward semi coke production capacity, still adopt extensive production methods and have serious environmental problems in industrial parks and illegal construction problems.
China's National Industrial Structure Adjustment Guidance Catalog makes it clear that semi coke production equipment with a single furnace capacity of less than 75,000 tons should be eliminated before the end of 2012. However, 349 semi coke production equipment with a single furnace capacity of less than 75,000 tons representing a total production capacity of 8.35 million tons were still running illegally in 23 magnesium metal companies in Fugu County alone as of the inspection team was stationed there.
The inspection team will further investigate and check the relevant situation, and conduct follow-up inspection work as required.
