IEA: Global coal production expected to increase by 2.8% YOY in 2022

The International Energy Agency (IEA) recently stated that in 2022, global coal production is expected to reach a record of 8.111 billion tons, an increase of 2.8% from the 2021 expected output of 7.889 billion tons.
The IEA stated in its "2021 Coal Report" that in 2022, India was expected to see the largest coal production increase on a year-on-year basis, and the output would reach 163 million tons, while China's coal production would increase by 57 million tons, Russia's output would up by 16 million tons, and Pakistan's output would increase by 12 million tons.
The report also predicts that coal production in the United States would fall by 44 million tons in 2022, and coal production in the European Union would decline by 82 million tons.
