Brazil initiates first anti-dumping sunset review investigation on alloy steel bars from China

On November 26, 2021, in response to the application submitted by a Brazilian enterprise Gerdau S/A on June 27, 2021, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat issued the Notice No. 79 of 2021 in the Federal Register, saying that the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation on alloy steel bars originating in China was launched. The product involved was simply hot rolled, hot stretched or hot extruded alloy steel bar, neither fast cut nor made of silico-manganese steel, with a thickness equal to or greater than 4.5mm and less than 60mm, and a width greater than or equal to 50mm and less than 150mm, regardless of that it is round, square or others. The Mercosur tax number of the products involved is 7228.30.00. The dumping investigation period of this case is from April 2020 to March 2021, and the injury investigation period is from April 2016 to March 2021. Except for another extension (2 months), the final decision will be made within 10 months. The announcement took effect from the date of issuance.
