Magnesite: As all fused magnesia producers halted production due to the electricity restriction on 27 Sep, the demand for high grade magnesite shrank and the prices moved down.
Caustic calcined magnesia: In early September, nearly half of the producers in Liaoning halted production owing to the environmental inspection. On 28 Sep, most of the rest also suspended production due to the electricity restriction . Besides the shrunken supply, the coal prices increased sharply . Therefore, the prices of caustic calcined magnesia moved up sharply in September.
