In the first quarter of FY2022 (July-September 2021), Australian-based miner South 32 produced 1.575 million tons of metallurgical coal, down by 15% from a year earlier and up by 18% from the previous quarter, according to the company's latest quarterly report.
All of the company's metallurgical coal production comes from Illawarra, which is 100% owned by South 32.
Metallurgical coal sales of Illawarra from July-September were 1.490 million tons, up by 1% from last year and 9% from last quarter.
