According to foreign media reports, Australia's New Hope Group's New Acland coal mine in Queensland, Australia, plans to suspend operations before the end of this year and enter the maintenance phase.
The New Acland coal mine, located in Queensland, is an open-pit power coal mine, wholly-owned by New Hope Group, with a production capacity of 4-5 million tons. As coal reserves are facing exhaustion, New Hope decided to suspend operations of the coal mine.
In the 2019-20 fiscal year (ending July 2020), the commercial coal production of the New Acland coal mine fell to 3.01 million tons, and it further fell to 1 . 83 million tons in the 2020-21 fiscal year.
