1. Market Highlights
Discouraged by reduced demand from downstream industries in the traditional low season, CRC and HGI coil prices in Chinese mainstream markets waved frequently and recorded a decline of RMB200-350/t (USD31-54/t) in June. Steel mills and traders lost confidence in the market gradually and there were reduced buying activities from end users, waiting for further price decrease. Due to the weakening prices in Chinese domestic market, CRC and HGI coil export prices went down gradually with producers showed less confidence in the coming market.
In the international market, CRC and HGI coil prices in many Asian countries including Malaysia and Vietnam turned to the downward trend due to weakened demand under lock down for the COVID-19 again. Those in India struggled to move up a little bit as the demand recovered slightly after the lock down removed in some regions.
