Shandong adds 1.78 billion tons of coal resources

A press conference held by the Shandong Provincial Government on December 24 revealed that during the ten years from 2011 to 2020, Shandong newly discovered four large and above coal mines as well as seven small and medium-sized coal mines, adding about 1.78 billion tons of coal resources.
In particular, large-scale high-quality coking coal fields discovered in the Zhangwan and Qinggangji exploration areas of Caoxian Coalfield, brought about nearly 1 billion tons of newly added resources, and the potential economic value reached RMB500 billion (USD76.55 billion), achieving a major breakthrough in coal prospecting in southwestern Shandong.
