According to the data released by Japan Iron & Steel Federation, in the first eight months of this fiscal year (April to November), Japan's crude steel output stayed at about 51
Japan produced about 7.26 million tons of crude steel in November, a year-on-year decrease of 5 . 9% but a month-on-month increase of 0 . 9%.
In November, Japan's output for ordinary steel products was about 5.74 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2 . 5%, but a slight increase of 0 . 2% from the previous month; the output of special steel was about 1 . 52 million tons, down by 16 . 6% YOY but up by 3 . 8% MOM.
In that month, Japan's converter steel output was about 5.29 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7 . 5%, and a slight decrease of 0 . 3% from October; electric furnace steel output reached about 1 . 98 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1%, but a month-on-month increase of 4 . 3%.
In November, Japan's hot-rolled steel coil production was about 3.05 million tons, down by 3% year-on-year but up by 2 . 8% month-on-month; H-beam production was 270,500 tons, down by 9 . 3% YOY and 8 . 3% MOM respectively.
In that month, Japan produced about 5.13 million tons of pig iron, a decrease of 11 . 6% year-on-year and a slight increase of 0 . 4% from the previous month.
