Japan's crude steel production volume is expected to drop by 2.5% from a year earlier to 23.5 million tons in January-March 2021, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) said on Tuesday.
Japan's METI, citing industry survey results, said steel demand including exports in the first quarter of next year is expected to drop by 3.4% to 20.64 million tons.
The agency also said steel exports are expected to decline by 7.3% over the same period.
