1. Market Highlights
In the first half of February, most Chinese manganese flake producers put off resuming production and had a low operating rate dragged by COVID-19. In addition, Chinese manganese flake producers and suppliers with stocks significantly raised offers due to poor logistics service, leading to sharp increase in manganese flake 99 . 7%min prices . After mid-February, manganese flake prices dropped rapidly as Chinese manganese flake producers restarted operation successively and logistics service went back to normal gradually.
Overseas downstream customers mostly finished rebuilding stocks in early February at high prices, so they showed weak demand for manganese flake after mid-February. As a result, export prices for the material followed the price downtrend in Chinese market.
