Nippon Steel to stop production of special steel used in vehicles in Zhejiang

Nippon Steel Corporation decided to cancel its subsidiary's plan of producing special steel used in vehicles in a plant located in Zhejiang, China, planning to start negotiation on closing this plant and other issues with local management department within 2019.
This plant is Zhejiang Nippon Steel Nisshin Worthington Precision Special Steel, a joint venture invested by Marubeni Itochu Steel, Worthington (an American steel mill) and Nippon Steel Nisshin, which contributes 55% of the total investment. It's said that the plant has an annual production capacity of 120,000t of high-strength special steel plates used in driving parts of vehicles.
