National-level rare earth industry incubation base broke ground in Dongying, Shandong

On 7 December, the groundbreaking ceremony of the research, development and industry incubation base under national-level rare earth catalyst research institute and the opening ceremony of data center were held in Dongying Economic and Technological Development Zone, Shandong.
This research institute is led by Tianjin University and co-invested by eight industry leading enterprises, including Sino-Precious Metals Holding Co., Ltd., Wuxi Weifu International Trade Co., Ltd. and Weichai Holding Group Co., Ltd.
With a total investment of RMB500 million (USD71.04 million) and as the sole national-level research body of rare earth catalyst in China, the national-level rare earth catalyst research institute will specialize in innovation and high-end applications of rare earth catalyst technology. The first phase project will focus on catalysts of tail gas clean-up and futures projects will study stationary source catalysts, such as industrial waste gas treatment, and new energy catalysts.
