MCC new material project comes on stream

On December 22, the phase Ⅰ new material project invested and built by China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC) in Caofeidian was put into operation in the workshop of MCC Ramu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
MCC Ramu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech company jointly constructed by MCC, Guoxuan High-tech Power Energy Co., Ltd., BYD and Caofeidian Development Investment Group Co., Ltd. by relying on mineral resource advantages of Ni, Co, Mn, Sc of China Minmetals Corporation and MCC based on the strategic layout of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development and new energy automobile development. With a total investment of RMB3.69 billion, the project is built in two stages. An investment of RMB2.35 billion is used to build 40,000tpy production line of NCM622 high-nickel ternary precursor in phase Ⅰ project and an investment of RMB1.34 billion is used to build 60,000tpy NCM811 high-nickel ternary precursor production line in phase Ⅱ project. 20tpy scandium oxide, a by-product, will be produced respectively in these two production lines. The company can achieve about RMB8 billion of sales, about RMB600 million of average annual net margin and about RMB200 million of average annual income tax in the phase Ⅰ and phase Ⅱ project. When these two production lines come on stream, the company will become the largest R&D and production base of high-nickel ternary precursor in China and the largest R&D and production base of scandium oxide in the world.
