1. Market Highlights
Supported by tight supply and firm prices of crude selenium 99%min, the overall prices for indium ingot 99%min were still no less than RMB1,500/kg (USD218/kg) in November although they fluctuated. Due to the environmental inspection, there were few small-scale crude indium 99%min plants with poor environmental protection qualification, and the supply of the material on the market was controlled by less than ten plants. As crude indium 99%min was the by-product of most lead and zinc smelters, its prices would keep firm as long as smelters are in no hurry to sell. In mid-November, Chinese indium ingot 99%min prices edged up supported by the speculative demand, but they dropped about a week later, and then indium market became quiet again.
