U.S. announces final industry injury decision on imports of China's forged steel fittings

On 8 November 2018, the USITC, via vote, launched the final affirmative decision on forged steel fittings imported from China Mainland and Italy, declaring that imports of certain goods from above two countries did injure American industry
On 26 October 2017, the Commerce conducted AD investigations on imports of forged steel fittings from Italy, China Mainland and Taiwan, and CVD investigation on forged steel fittings imported from China, in response to the application lodged by BonneyForge Corporation and the UnitedSteel, Paperand Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union on 5 October 2017. On 17 November 2017, the USITC made preliminary affirmative decision of industry injury on imports of involved products from Italy, China Mainland and Taiwan, and preliminary affirmative decision of industry injury on imports of forged steel fittings from China Mainland . On 8 March 2018, the Commerce made its preliminary CVD decision on forged steel fittings from China Mainland, and on 14 May 2018, it announced its preliminary AD decision on imports of involved products from Italy, China Mainland and Taiwan . On 2 October 2018, the Commerce released its final affirmative decision of AD on forged steel fittings from China Mainland and Italy, and final affirmative decision of CVD on above products from China Mainland.
. Five commissioners of the USITC voted in the affirmative . According to the decision, the Department of Commerce of U . S . (Commerce) will levy anti-dumping duty (AD) on imports of forged steel fittings from China Mainland and Italy, and countervailing duty (CVD) on imports of forged steel fittings from China Mainland . Involved products were under HTSUS codes 7307 . 99 . 1000, 7307 . 99 . 3000, 7307 . 99 . 5045 and 7307 . 99 . 5060 and some were under HTSUS codes 7307 . 92 . 3010, 7307 . 92 . 3030, 7307 . 92 . 9000 and 7326 . 19 . 0010.
