HR strip prices in major markets of China witnessed different trends during this month. Prices in North China saw an upward trend mainly supported by higher raw material costs, while those in East China went down slightly on customers' slow purchasing activities, and those in South China were generally stable. Some steel mills could not keep the regular production due to the environmental protection inspection. Customers without urgent need for materials were just holding a wait-and-see attitude and placing orders sparingly. Insiders think prices are likely to go down in the coming month.
