Using SLM facility of Farsoon Technologies, compactness, tensile strength, yield strength and percentage elongation of the printed tantalum metal sample could be more than 99.3%, 485MPa, 420MPa and 18% . Its comprehensive performance is much better than tantalum metal casting parts and close to that of forging parts . The porosity of porous samples could be more than 85%.
Development of the technique would make great contribution on orthopaedic implants, medical apparatus and refractory components in China.
