HR strip prices in major markets of China witnessed an upward trend during this month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and increase in steel mills' list prices. Some steel mills stopped or reduced the production due to the environmental protection inspection and the supply for HR strip decreased. However, as it was the traditionally low season, demand from downstream customers continued to be weak and the market sales performance did not become better. Insiders do not expect the price to go up further in the coming week.
