HR strip prices in major markets of China saw a downward trend during this month because of lower raw material costs and decrease in steel mills' list prices. Some steel mills could not keep the regular production affected by the environmental protection inspection. Customers without urgent need for materials were expecting the price to drop further and refusing to place orders. Having no confidence in the market outlook, traders were reluctant to build large stockpiles. Insiders think the market will continue to be dim in the coming month.
