1. Market Highlights
Chinese silicon metal were stable in early and mid-March but decreased in late the month due to weak demand from downstream buyers. The domestic market saw rare deals as consumers were inactive to make purchases as a result of the dim aluminum alloy market, thus prices for silicon metal declined. In the export market, prices also moved down following lower prices in the Chinese market; in addition, overseas buyers only made purchases in small quantity owing to stocks in hand and pessimistic attitude towards the market outlook, leaving inactive transactions.
