Bao Wendong, chairman of the board and general manager of Yunnan Germanium stated on April 12 that with stricter environmental protection requirement and the promotion of related policies from 2017, some enterprises which cannot meet standard were closed, leaving less supply and improvement in the relationship of demand and supply. Thus, prices for germanium increased and the industry recovered gradually with better market condition.
