HR strip prices in major markets of China witnessed a downward trend during this month because of lower raw material costs and decrease in steel mills' list prices. Some steel mills did not resume the regular production affected by the environmental protection inspection and the supply decreased. Nevertheless, expecting the price to drop further, customers without urgent need for materials were just holding a wait-and-see attitude and placing orders sparingly. Traders were not confident of the market outlook and refused to build large stockpiles. Insiders do not suppose the market will improve in the coming week.
