1. Market Highlights
Prices for steel plate increased by RMB100-200/t (USD15-30/t) in China during the month benefited from sharp and continuous prices increases of raw materials such as iron ore and steel billet. The market performance showed signs of warming up following the price rise since end users began to place orders actively seeing the upward price trend. Holding low inventories at hand, most traders were not in a hurry to sell products and eager to raise prices in view of higher purchasing costs. Meanwhile, supply from mills was continued to be cut because of restrict environmental protection policies. Considering the overall stockpile remains low, insiders foresee a further price increase of steel plate in December.
