HR strip prices in major markets of China saw an upward trend during this month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and increase in steel mills’ list prices. Some steel mills could not keep the regular production affected by the environmental protection inspection and the supply decreased accordingly. However, the market sales performance did not become better on continuously weak customer demand and traders were reluctant to build large stockpiles to avoid risks. Insiders think the market will continue to be quiet in the coming month.
