9 people jailed in Longyan's largest illegal exploitation of rare earth mine case

Nine persons have been jailed for 6 years and 9 months to 2 years in Longyan's largest illegal exploitation of rare earth mine case recently according to the first instance from the court. The 9 persons were arrested for illegally mining more than 1,600t of rare earth resources with value of more than RMB56 million, resulting in severe pollution for ecological environment. In 2014, they were seized by the police in Xinluo region with more than 10t of rare earth resources controlled.
