During August, Chinese selenium powder market remained relatively stable with prices edging down slowly. However, the demand from downstream enterprises was quite sluggish due to environmental inspections with most purchasing from hand to mouth, leading to limited deals on the market. Deals were improved from July on the selenium dioxide market, but prices hovered at around RMB180/kg (USD27.55/kg) following fluctuations of manganese flake prices. In addition, the Chinese tellurium metal market continued to be quiet and consumers were in low interests in purchasing, resulting in tepid deals on the market.
