Tongwei Solar (Chengdu) to put phase Ⅱ of 2GW crystalline silicon battery production line into operation on Sep 20

Tongwei Solar (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. will officially put the phase Ⅱ of 2GW crystalline silicon battery production line (“the Production Line”) into operation on Sep 20 when the Production Line with the largest capacity scale globally may change the landscape of global photovoltaic industry.
As the new emerging force of new energy field, Tongwei Solar started to build the phase Ⅰ of 1GW high efficiency crystalline silicon battery project on November 18, 2015 and successfully made the first piece of Chengdu-Made battery piece in June 2016.
A few months later, Tongwei made still further progress and launched phase Ⅱ of 2GW crystalline silicon battery production line in Chengdu.
It is known that the battery production base in Chengdu has a total designed construction of 5GW of solar battery with a total investment of about RMB6 billion. After going into operation, the production base can achieve sales volume of about RMB10 billion with more than 4,000 employees, registering the high efficiency crystalline silicon battery production line with the largest capacity scale globally.
With the phase Ⅱ of the project about to go into operation, phase Ⅲ of the project has been put on the agenda and will go into operation within 2-3 years. By virtue of completion of phase Ⅲ, Tongwei plans to bring along upstream and downstream industries of photovoltaic to form photovoltaic industrial cluster and create an industrial ecologic chain and ecosphere of organic integration and virtuous cycle.
