In July, demand for cadmium ingot from alloy producers was continuously strong in Yiwu; meanwhile, affected by great pressure in environmental inspection in Hunan and other regions of China, private producers for cadmium ingot kept low operating rate, leading to tight supply for the material in the spot market. Therefore, prices for cadmium ingot generally showed upward trend in China during the month. The cadmium ingot market became steady gradually in late July with less demand and fewer deals owing to off-season of alloy and production suspension of related companies in Xinxiang affected by environmental inspections. Prices are expected to stay stable in August because it is the off-season of cadmium ingot.
